SFGQ19
The Q19 flugelhorn delivers the refinement and responsiveness that define the Shires Q Series in a flugelhorn voice built for professional performance. Its handspun yellow brass 6" bell with a traditionally brazed seam and soldered bead produces a warm, centered tone that blooms naturally across the full range with clarity and depth. A yellow brass leadpipe bit with large Morse taper provides an open, free-blowing feel with well-defined slots and immediate response, giving the player confident control from the softest piano to a full, projecting forte. Hand-lapped monel pistons in a three-piston cluster with nickel-silver outer tubes offer consistent, effortless action, while an ergonomically designed trigger on the third slide ensures precise intonation in any musical context. The Q19 is a flugelhorn of genuine professional caliber — expressive, balanced, and built with the craftsmanship Shires is known for. Also available with an optional gold brass bell (SFGQ19G) for a darker, richer tonal character.
