S.E. Shires Studio Seminars

Thank you for your interest in S.E. Shires Studio Seminars! We would like to offer you and your studio an inside look into one of the world’s most innovative manufacturers of trumpets, trombones, and euphoniums.

This complimentary service will be hosted over zoom and will not only provide your students with invaluable information, but also offer a variety of seminars to supplement your studio teaching. These sessions will be interactive, so both you and your students can ask questions and learn from our guest artists and speakers. 

SESSIONS: 

  • How it’s Made - You may have seen us on the classic Discovery Channel TV series How It’s Made. Now you can join us for your own virtual tour! Follow our Craftsmen and Craftswomen as they take you through our factory and watch them transform brass and nickel into world renowned instruments. 

  • Meet the Makers - Our Craftspeople are responsible for making some of the finest brass instruments in the world. We’ve put together a panel of our team to meet with your studio! Find out who these amazing people are and what they do. 

  • Decoding your instrument - With so many options available, it can sometimes be difficult to understand what all of the components do, and what all of the numbers and letters mean! We’re here to help you learn more about your horn, and de-mystify the process behind Shires instruments! 

  • Color and Perception - Find out how different bell alloys and other components of an instrument affect our perception of sound. Dive in deep with us as we talk about how musicians perceive sound, and how we use that perception to help guide musicians to their perfect instrument.
