James Monaghan

General Manager James Monaghan joined S.E. Shires in 2004.  He began his career in the buffing room before moving onto sales and artist relations.  In 2006 James returned to the factory floor, becoming a master craftsman with experience in every aspect of production.  In 2010 James became Production Manager, and in 2015 was promoted to General Manager.  
James holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Trombone Performance from the Indiana University School of Music, where he studied with Ed Anderson and Carl Lenthe.  He also attended the Boston University College of Fine Arts as a graduate student of Scott Hartman.  James currently plays second trombone with the Atlantic Symphony and bass trombone with the New Bedford Symphony.  He has served as trombonist with the Cape Playhouse, America’s oldest professional summer theater, since 2006.  In 2012 James joined the Latin Heartbeat Orchestra in Hartford Connecticut, and has performed extensively with them in Connecticut and New York.
