Alexis Smith, retail sales associate for S. E. Shires, has had a love for Shires trombones since winning one after placing first in the 2012 Southeast Trombone Symposium solo competition. Alexis has received her B.M. from the Manhattan School of Music and her M.M. from The Juilliard School. Currently, she is pursuing a D.M.A. at Boston University. In addition to working with a wonderful variety of musicians at Shires, Alexis is also the principal trombonist of the Southwest Florida Symphony Orchestra based in Fort Meyers, Florida and a co-founder of the Boston Trombone Project.
