The (original) Michael Davis trombone was developed through a close collaboration between virtuoso Michael Davis and the craftsmen of S.E. Shires. The resulting instrument is genuinely unique and considered to be the finest small-bore tenor trombone.
The Michael Davis+ trombone was developed to answer the call for something a little bigger than the original Michael Davis trombone. An instrument of exceptional versatility, the Michael Davis + combines warmth and roundness of sound with superb core and sizzle, making it the ideal trombone for any performance situation.
The Ralph Sauer Artist Trombone was developed through a close collaboration between Ralph Sauer and the craftsmen of S. E. Shires. This instrument features a detachable-flare bell, a smaller dual-bore rotary valve, and a .525"-.547" handslide.
The Colin Williams Artist Model tenor trombone has developed over the course of the artist's long relationship with Stephen Shires and S.E. Shires instruments. Responsive and clear, this instrument produces a broad sound with warmth throughout the harmonic register. This model represents an ideal realization of the heroic New York low brass sound.
The George Curran Artist Model bass trombone has developed over the course of the artist's long relationship with Stephen Shires and S.E. Shires instruments. This bass trombone features a broad and expansive tone with quick response and truly open register. This model represents an ideal realization of the heroic New York low brass sound.
The Blair Bollinger Model Bass Trombone is genuinely unique and includes several specific design elements not found on any other S.E. Shires trombone. The Bollinger Tuning System facilitates playing scales and arpeggios with the smallest number of handslide positions possible. This instrument produces a broad orchestral sound with unparalleled response and clarity.
Producing a broad, rich sound that is very balanced and flexible with a truly open low register and easy response, this model represents the heritage of Texas musicianship at it's finest!
